How the U.S. Navy Uses Social Media

As some organizations in private industry still hesitate introducing social media in their marketing mix, the US Navy has fully embraced it.  Consider the fact that this is a government entity that, without doubt, is concerned with protecting classified information; yet they have succeeded to create a social media environment as an effective communication tool for ordinary times as well as for times of crises.  As the video tells us, “you have to have a social media communications platform ready and active to be effective in times of crisis”.
