Going Green

Posted by TeamITI on October 12, 2008

As destination marketing organizations, convention centers, meeting and event planners struggling to develop basic and cost effective strategies to comply with some sort of “green strategy,” new technology offers solutions beyond the obvious and sometimes challenging ways to demonstrate a proactive solution to this challenging question.

What if meeting planners can communicate with attendees and manage their conventions and events in real time, save money and create incrimental income for their organizations? What if attendees could use the convenience of their mobile phone to view agenda’s, network with convention attendees, interact with exhibitors, download presentations in PDF format and discover and enjoy the destination where the event is being held. What if everyone wins – including the environment? Meeting2go, using mobile platform makes this possible.

We all understand the importance of “going green” but the task can be daunting. With the use of a great software and taking advantage of a mobile platform our industry can set new standards. DMAI recognizes “going green” as a mega trend. Those entities who do not pay attention or do not take the time to learn about new options to enhence services offered and adhere to the growing demand of the consumer, will loose their competitive advanatage. Staying the course is simply not enough.
